They are celebrating the 48th anniversary since opening their first store June 1, 1970 in Kankakee, IL Jim has also developed a consumer trade show, 'Race & Performance Expo', which just completed if 11th show. From the first 'RP Expo' in 2008, the 'Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge' was born. This STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Team Activity for High School CTE Classes was developed to keep our youth interested in the race and performance industry. To date over 10 million dollars in College scholarships have been given out. A total of 40 teams will be competing in the 10th National Championship that will be held at both the SEMA Show and the PRI Show this coming Fall.

Amy Faulk

Bio:

As the first woman to win a sportsman World Championship in drag racing, Faulk ascended to the industry's highest platform. She was the first woman to win NHRA national events in three different categories. Each category required driving skills inherent to their classification.

Her list of accomplishments and accolades includes:

  • 1980 Car Craft Magazine Driver of the Year
  • 1996 SEMA Person of the Year
  • 2002 SEMA Hall of Fame inductee

Faulk has served as a champion of the automotive aftermarket Industry. She was a member of the SEMA Board of Directors and was honored in 2009 at the National Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

She also has been a past PWA winner of the person of the year.

A passion also include working in the aftermarket automotive industry and being a member of SEMA. She has held management and executive positions with Racing Head Service, Cam Dynamics, Crane Cams, Comp Cams, TCI, FelPro, Federal Mogul and currently is the CEO of Hypertech, Inc.

Volunteering has also been an eye opening experience that everyone should strive for. I served on the MRN Select Committee and was elected chair-elect. I have been privileged to work with high school automotive program students to show them career paths in the automotive aftermarket. I have enjoyed working with other volunteers with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion on veteran's initiatives. Each has given me a profound respect for what it means to others when you give of your time.

Bio: Sabra Johnson, the owner of City Classic Cars, has been in the industry for nearly 30+ years first as a performance enthusiast, consumer, entrepreneur and car builder. My first job in the aftermarket was working for Samuels Auto Brokers, an exotic and sports performance boutique featuring a service division. At Samuels, I was blessed with a special opportunity during my high school and college years to see the buying process, the funding process, sales process and the aftermarket service side of the performance business. Through the years I have bought, built and flipped my share of projects while simultaneously developing my career as a youth pastor, community organizer and eventually Pastor. Cars allow men and women of different backgrounds, cultural groups and regions to have common ground of shared affinity. Cars and classic Cars specifically form a cerebral connection that invites all to join, for this and more I love the aftermarket.

Currently I am owner-operator of a full service restoration shop in Houston Texas where I serve as lead designer, Restorations project manager and global brand ambassador for the company. As an avid story teller, I am always teaching and mentoring others through my church work and writing projects. Past published works include Life's Blueprint, Born To Succed, Designed For Greatness and from an automotive standpoint, I am currently writing a DIY book with car tech books entitled how to restomod a trifive.

Some of my automotive career highlights include developing a hobby into a 5+acre 14, 000+ square feet multi-million dollar fully staffed one-stop-shop Restomod and Performance Brand, Contracting with Car Tech books to publish a how to restomod book on the trifive, launching and funding a mentorship youth program reaching high school students through city classic cars, Building a Restomod for NFL Hall of famed Earl Campbell, and participating in the Sema battle of the builders to name a few.

My greatest passion is to bring greater diversity as I help others find success at the table we call the aftermarket.

Bio: I began my automotive career in 1968 as a counterman in the Berger Chevrolet High Performance Parts Department. In 1970 I was promoted to department manager and, over the next five years, built the department into a world-famous entity that is still talked about to this today. In 1975 I was asked to join the Mr. Phone Agency. Mr. Phone was the exclusive sales representatives of more than a dozen industry-leading companies including Mr. Gasket, Hays, Lakewood, Mallory, B&M, Cragar Wheels and Hurst Performance. After working there for 11 years I struck out on my own in 1986 and founded Rise Sales, a Marketing and PR company that was dedicated to the High-Performance Automotive Aftermarket. I am still operating that business to this very day. I have been very involved in the industry overall and this year will be my 49th CONSECUTIVE SEMA Show. During my career I have won quite a few awards of distinction including several from SEMA. I am a two-time SEMA TOP 10 recruiting award winner and I won the Best New Catalog Award at the 1993 SEMA/AIA Show. In later years I have been more active as a writer and more than 100 of my published articles are viewable on my dedicated web site, www.jimluikens.com. Bio: Late '60's I went to the drags with Ed "The Master" Pink and his Top Fuel dragster where I mostly changing oil and packed the parachute. 1964 - 1991 Edelbrock Equipment in Los Angeles, CA. My first job was sweeping floors and cleaning restrooms. Then I moved into manufacturing, shipping, engineering and product development. 1982 I became the VP of Sales. I'm proud to say Edelbrock captured three Performance Warehouse Association (PWA) Manufacturer of the Year awards (1984,'89 and '90). In the mid-'70s, I campaigned a B / Econorail dragster. After much success at the local strips like legendary Lions and Orange County International Raceway I felt the Econorail dragsters deserved their own NHRA class. So in 1973 I sat on the lawn at OCIR and wrote some rules for A & B Econorails and sent them to NHRA. At the same time I suggested the blown alcohol cars should have their own class. NHRA agreed, and this is where the Pro Comp class started and the Econorails became Competition Eliminator cars. 1990 received the PWA Person of the Year Award. 1991 retired from Edelbrock 1992 hired by PWA (Performance Warehouse Association) 1993 elected to the SEMA Board of Directors and served a two year term. 2011 Inducted into the SEMA Hall of Fame 2014 retired from PWA 2015 became a "volunteer" with the Hot Rodders Of Tomorrow. This is a National High School Engine Challenge which provides scholarship funds for many high school Teams.
